I met Jenna at Foxhill plantation in Hahira Georgia for this mommy and me session. I was in south Georgia for a friends wedding and wanted to take advantage of being able to shoot under the spanish moss. As an Atlanta family photographer, I really wish I could transport some spanish moss up here. It was abnormally frigid for the time of the year. Usually south Georgia never really gets cold. We shot for maybe 15 minutes and everyone was freezing. It was almost unbearable. I felt horrible for the babies so I worked quickly.
I sent Jenna a style inspiration board for the shoot and she picked out the most perfect outfits since this session happened before I started building my client closet. During the session, Murphy, the little boy, only wanted my husband to hold him. And Elseigh just wanted coffee lol. It’s important to meet kids where they are in a session. If they don’t want to smile at the camera you can’t force them. As an Atlanta Family photographer, it’s important to set session expectations with my families. We have no idea how the babies will be feeling that day but we have to make the most of the time we have together. I send all of my families a session guide book to help set expectations for the whole process, not just session day.
